Petras Cidzikas held his first hunger strike from 16th to 26th of August, 1988. His demands were for the government to release political prisoners, free the partisans and remove the Soviet Armed Forces. After this and subsequent hunger strikes, most of these demands were met.

 

The performance given at the exhibition Do the Right Thing was a ten-day fasting in a tent built in the gallery. It was performed in remembrance of Petras Cidzikas’ hunger strike.
