In 2018, the government in Egypt prohibited all depictions of Mickey Mouse on the walls of schools and kindergartens, demanding to replace them with portraits of war heroes. During a residency in Alexandria, with the help of Cairo sewers, I made a child’s teepee with an arabic writing ghuru, meaning piss off.
